Welcome to the 2022 Season of Cassowary Coast Athletics.
This is the 26th year of operation for our little Club. This is a testament to the support of our parents and volunteers, which year in and year out, are here to support the children on their athletic journey. I look forward to working alongside this year’s parents and carers as we help our athletes do their best each week!
Our Centre holds monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at Castor Park. We would like parents to attend as any ideas or suggestions on how to improve the Centre is most appreciated.
Athletics is a voluntary organisation. For this Centre to continue to operate, we need parents to come forward each week to offer assistance where and when required. It is a requirement of our Centre that parents help out at our club meets and carnivals. One parent or carer must be in attendance each time the athlete attends club night, otherwise the athlete will not be allowed to participate. Any help is always accepted.
Athletes should always try to do their best both on and off the track and field, enjoy competing, aim to improve their own personal best performance and participate in all available events. Apart from our regular Friday night competition, all athletes are encouraged to participate in other centre and regional competitions. Athletes and parents are to show good sportsmanship, support and respect the time and effort put in by the officials and committee members.
To help parents understand how our club and athletics in general operates, this website has been developed. Please take the time to read the information on this website. Upcoming events, news and information to keep you informed will be placed on our club noticeboard as well as on our Facebook page.
Remember if you have any queries, please come and see me or any of our committee members.
