Cassowary Coast Athletics was established in 1997 to enable children in the local area to participate in a wide range of track and field events.
It provides the chance for interested athletes to compete at higher levels through intercentre competitions but still allows athletes to achieve satisfaction and personal achievement by participating at Centre level.
Our Centre caters for children aged between five and sixteen years of age. Club nights are held each Friday evening from February to October at Castor Park, Mourilyan starting at 5.30pm for compulsory warm up until 8.30pm.
Over the years our Centre has hosted Development Clinics for athletes, Coaching Clinics for parents, Official’s Courses, Intercentre Days and Regional Championships for the Tropical North Region.
Whilst it is a relatively small Centre, our athletes and officials have achieved at State and National level, as well as acknowledgment with State Awards.

Volunteers make our Centre WORK!
Every Little Athletics Centre needs a team of Volunteers and Officials.
These parent helpers are very important to the effective conduct of the Centre and there are always a variety of roles and positions that need to be filled. Some require technical knowledge and experience, whilst others are basic and only require a limited understanding of athletics.
